An Ode to an Ode: Noor Hindi is a 2025 Unfold Guest Host
Join us on April 5 for Noor's workshop!
Time for our next guest host announcement! Noor Hindi will be joining us on Saturday, April 5, 11 am-1 pm central. What a gift! What a surprise! What a life we get to live.
Noor Hindi (she/her/hers) is calling on you to join the global fight for the survival and liberation of Palestinians and all oppressed people. Anywhere and everywhere you are, you can disrupt, advocate, speak out and refuse in small and big ways. Revolution until freedom. Hindi is a Palestinian-American poet. Her debut collection of poems, Dear God. Dear Bones. Dear Yellow (Haymarket Books 2022), was an honorable mention for the Arab American Book Award. She is currently editing a Palestinian poetry anthology with George Abraham (Haymarket Books, 2025). Follow her on Instagram @NoorKHindi.
You might know Noor’s poem “Fuck Your Lecture on Craft, My People Are Dying,” published in Poetry Magazine in 2020. It has circulated social media frequently especially alongside news of the genocide in Palestine and other horrifying realities of the current timeline. Noor’s poems are creative and devastating and full of tiny pockets of beauty. I can think of so many lines that have rolled around my head for weeks after reading them (“Confession: i tried to love the moon but decided i’m afraid of intimacy,” “Please, forgive me. I want to call in dead,” “I know your trauma / is a thing we’ll name / breaking / news,” and “I think about how it takes forever to get to nowhere,” to name a few). I truly cannot wait for her workshop.
Noor’s Unfold workshop, An Ode to an Ode, will explore one of the oldest forms of poetry, its classic form, and its contemporary reinvention. Through readings and a generative exercise, participants will learn how to infuse their loves and obsessions into poetry. Whether you want to honor a loved one, a favorite food, or the feeling of sunlight on your skin, this workshop will help you turn what you love into poetry.
Become an Unfold member or grab a guest pass to attend Noor’s session and write about what you love! Hit the comments to tell her how excited we are.
